OPEN CITY 2019 / LUBLIN 13 SEP – 11 OCT 2019.

The official opening of the Festival will be held on September 13, 2019, at 5 p.m. You are all warmly welcome!

OPEN CITY Festival is one of the most influential events showcasing contemporary art in urban space in Poland. Our efforts have been consistently focused on making contemporary art an integral part of everyday urban reality.

Every year artists, under the guidance of prominent curators, imprint their messages on the living fabric of the city. They make references to the history and present-day reality of Lublin, but also to various concerns of its residents.

In a creative manner, they re-interpret urban space and explore the city’s fabric. Artistic pursuits serve as a commentary on the current affairs and try to open new chapter in the city’s history.

During the festival, we have presented works of the most prominent Polish and international artists, as well as young talents.

The program of the latest edition of the OTWARTE MIASTO / OPEN CITY Festival is prepared by Paweł Leszkowicz and Tomasz Kitliński.

During this year’s edition, the artists will tackle the issue of hospitality and hospitality versus hostility in Lublin’s history and contemporaneity.
